On October 14, 2025, during the “Hydrogen Economy & Skills for Heavy Duty Mobility” event organized by the TWEED Cluster at Spa-Francorchamps, in presence of a delegation from the Luxembourg Ministry of Economy, Haesaerts-Altrea presented its latest innovations: hydrogen trucks already in daily operation, complemented by dual-fuel solutions combining hydrogen and diesel for a realistic and viable transition.

As Luc Haesaerts, CEO of the group, summarizes: zero emissions is the goal, but it must remain economically and operationally feasible. That’s why the company is advancing on two fronts: deploying hydrogen where it is already viable, while using dual-fuel vehicles to reduce emissions while the ecosystem matures.

Challenges remain: hydrogen fuel is still expensive, refueling stations are limited, and approval rules vary from country to country. Haesaerts therefore calls for clear, harmonized policies and targeted investments to transform the current momentum into a sustainable, mainstream solution.

Actively engaged in the Coalition of the Willing around HydrogenNet, Haesaerts-Altrea aims to structure the entire hydrogen chain—from production to logistics, distribution, and use—to scale up industrially.
