Luxembourg makes its return to the world’s top 15 most competitive economies.

In the IMD World Competitiveness Center 2026 ranking, Luxembourg climbs six places to reach 14th position globally, marking its best performance since 2022. 

Key figures to note:

- The most significant improvement is in economic performance, where Luxembourg moves from 35th to 6th place worldwide.
- Government efficiency also improves, ranking 13th this year.
- Luxembourg remains #1 globally for GDP per capita.

According to the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Luxembourg is among the few European economies to have improved its position in this year’s ranking.
