Luxembourg Space Resources Week 2026, 4–7 May 2026

Luxembourg Space Resources Week

Since its inauguration in 2018, Space Resources Week has established itself as the reference event for the global space resources community. Hosted annually in Luxembourg, the conference is organised by the European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC) in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST).

The event brings together space agencies, industry leaders, researchers and early-stage ventures from around the world. By design, Space Resources Week is multidisciplinary, addressing the scientific, technological, economic, legal and regulatory dimensions of space resources. A shared ambition unites the community: advancing the sustainable and responsible use of space resources for the benefit of both space exploration and life on Earth.

This edition also marks the fifth anniversary of ESRIC, offering a moment to reflect on the progress achieved so far and to look ahead at the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Future efforts will focus on mapping space resources, designing architectures that integrate their use, and developing roadmaps to transition ground-based research into space-ready technologies.

Call for Abstracts

Space Resources Week 2026 invites high-quality contributions showcasing cutting-edge research, technology demonstrators and innovative concepts across the full space resources value chain.

Academic presentations
Members of the space resources community are encouraged to submit abstracts presenting current research, technological developments and commercial initiatives. The conference aims to foster structured exchanges and collaboration among stakeholders.

Business pitches for early-stage ventures
Early-stage companies are invited to present their vision and ideas to an audience of global industry leaders, investors and researchers.

Topics of Interest

  • Identification of resources on the Moon, Mars and asteroids (missions, measurements, mapping, prospecting)

  • Extraction and utilisation of space resources (excavation, beneficiation, oxygen and metals from regolith, water ice, purification and use)

  • Architectures for and with space resources (e.g. in-space refuelling using resource-derived propellants)

  • Supporting technologies (power, construction, automation and operations)

  • Legal, regulatory and policy frameworks

  • Economic studies related to space resources

Participants can also access recordings from previous editions and take part in the Post-Conference Early Career Symposium, offering early career professionals the opportunity to present novel research, gain presentation experience and engage in in-depth discussions while fostering collaboration.
