On 2 June 2022 the two member communities of the Business Clubs, Business Club Belgium-Luxembourg (BCBL) & Belgian Business Club Luxembourg (BBCL) will meet for the first time on the occasion of a cultural and business trip to Luxembourg (Esch-Belval). This initiative was instigated by the desire to strengthen the Belgian-Luxembourg business community, to highlight potential synergies, and to raise awareness of the common (industrial) history between the two countries.

The two Clubs decided to meet up in the frame of the European Capital of Culture initiative launched by the European Union in 1985, that honoured this year, the Luxembourg’s city, Esch-sur-Alzette. Thanks to the rich exhibitions and activities proposed at Esch2022, the day will be animated with a series of cultural, historic, and business visits and encounters.

The programme will include the discovery of the AI&ART Pavilion (by University of Luxembourg and LIST) where the business delegation will be presented projects that involve Artificial Intelligence technologies into artistic work. After a stop-over at the Incubator of the University of Luxembourg, the group will head for a walk on the Belval site with the help of tour guides from the Fond Belval to learn about this industrial location. Finally, Ms Dominique Santana (PhD at University of Luxembourg) will be presenting her transmedia project “A Colônia Luxemburguesa” narrating the historical and industrial links between Luxembourg and Brazil, that is a century of intersecting stories between Luxembourg’s Minett Region and the State of Minas Gerais in Brazil, taking its roots in the steel production in XXth century.

The Clubs will be also honoured by the presence of the Belgian and Luxembourgish Ambassadors respectively accredited in Luxembourg and in Belgium. The Clubs also warmly thank the member companies who generously support this event: Degotte, RTL Belgium, Jan de Nul and CapitalAtWork. The two member communities look forward to meeting each other in early June, and further discover their closeness through historical, artistic and technological aspects.

You will find various pictures of the different exhibitions/projects/monuments the Clubs are going to visit in June.
